The “Bibliography of Community Currency Research” strives to reflect the variety of research in this field. The core element is a databank that assembles empirical and theoretical contributions about community currencies in different languages. Any title in this databank has been reviewed by one of the editors and is registered with appropriate keywords (“subjects”) as well as short descriptions. Often, a simple search across “all fields” already yields interesting results. If not, possibilities for advanced searches and browsing options are available.

Outside the databank lists of literature with examples from the following areas are at the users’ disposal:

– Background literature, i.e. titles that do not deal with complementary currencies, but are often quoted by authors in this field of research;

– Literature about the parallel use of multiple currencies in pre-modern times;

– Monetary innovations.
