This first Conference was entitled “Thirty years of community and complementary currencies – what next?”. It was organised by the University of Lyon’s Triangle research centre, from the 16th to the 18th of February 2011, and was trilingual (Spanish/English/French) and multidisciplinary. It gathered overall 250 persons during 3 related events:
- Two days of a classical research conference with call for papers, at the ENS Lyon (Ecole normale supérieure). 55 papers were presented. (16-17 Feb.)
- One day was dedicated to the practitioners, in the house of the Urban community of Lyon : “Building the movement” (18 Feb.)
- A roundtable opened to the general public (17th Feb.) held at the Palais de la Mutualité : “La monnaie réinventée : éclairages internationaux sur les monnaies sociales et complémentaires (Argentine, Brésil, France, Grande-Bretagne)”, notably featuring late Sandra Magalhaes),
